Nancy Camacho has long loved the creativity of fabric, needle and thread. From childhood projects with her mother, she grew skilled enough to sew dresses for wedding parties. For a number of years, however, her career took her in other directions as a sales person and eventually as the owner of a child care center.

In 1996, she combined her creative passion with her business skills and opened Elegant Embroidery in Lake Zurich, Illinois. The business thrived, and in 2003 Nancy added screen printing and heat transfer. Husband Andy manages these newer areas, assisted by Nancy’s sons Derek and Andrew, while she continues to handle the embroidery projects.
