In what form do you need my logo?

We need your logo in a digital format, preferably vector: Encapsulated Postscript (EPS), Adobe Illustrator (AI) or Windows Metafile (WMF). If your artwork is bitmapped, Elegant Embroidery can reformat it in vector for an additional artwork fee.

How do I deliver my logo to you?

You can deliver it to us at our shop on CD, e-mail it or use our quote form [link to quote form] to submit your artwork and project specifications.

How do you transform my logo to embroidery?

Embroidery is digitized to guide the embroidery machine in sewing. Digitizing defines the type of stitches the embroidery machine will use. Good quality art work, such as a custom company logo, is scanned into the computer and various points are plotted to define each stitch which will produce your logo. This process can take considerable time and effort. Once your design is digitized, we save it for future orders as your needs grow. The digitizing fee is a one-time fee and is based on the complexity of the design and the number of stitches in the design. Send us your design to get a free estimate on digitizing costs.

I don’t have a logo but have an idea of what I’d like. Can you help?

Elegant Embroidery currently has access to 35,000 stock designs, available for you to browse in catalogs or visit www.dakotacollectibles. These are created by companies who specialize in making embroidery designs and are sold to anyone wishing to use them. We have stock designs for every need. We can also customize a stock design by adding the name of your business or organization, which does not incur a setup fee.

What font or typeface can I use?

Fonts or typefaces are the different ways text appears. Elegant Embroidery offers a wide variety of great fonts that can be used for a print logo or your event slogan. Please contact us for specific information.

What do you recommend for apparel embroidery size?

For a typical left chest embroidery, the ideal design has a maximum dimension of 3.5" - 4.0". There are exceptions when a design has one dimension that is several times larger than the other. The size of many designs is dictated by the smallest text in the design. We will size your design appropriately based on our experience.

What is the smallest text size you can embroider?

The smallest text we can accurately embroider is about 0.25" (6mm) high. We can make adjustments to your design to compensate for slight variations. Typically, a single line of text can only include about 20 characters and spaces before it requires the text to be split into two lines.

What do you recommend for headwear embroidery dimensions?

The maximum height for a headwear design is 2.25" high (less for visors). The width may be as wide as 4" or even more. Embroidery on the side of a cap may be included at no additional cost.

How many thread colors can I have?

Your embroidery may include up to nine different colors at no extra charge. We rarely need that many, but will use as many colors as necessary to execute your design to your satisfaction.

How well can you match your thread to my artwork?

If we have color art of your design, we will use the displayed colors to match our thread to your logo. If you have particular Pantone© PMS codes you specify, please furnish them and we will do our best to match to the corresponding thread. In either case, we will send you a proof for your approval.

Will I see a sample of my embroidery?

About one week after you place your order, we will e-mail you a scan of your actual embroidery along with its dimensions. This proof is sent to you for approval before we begin production. Any changes you request will be made and a revised proof will be prepared and sent to you.

Once you approve your design, your order is scheduled for production and should be completed in 1-2 weeks depending on size, quantity and season. We will e-mail an invoice to you when your order is shipped.

If you prefer, you may request a Pre-Production proof. After we receive your e-mail approval of the design, we will send you a sample of the garment with the actual embroidery for your approval at a one piece sample price.
